Sri Lanka is a beautiful island country located in the Indian Ocean, just south of India. It is often called the “Pearl of the Indian Ocean” because of its stunning natural beauty, including golden beaches, lush green mountains, and diverse wildlife. Sri Lanka has a rich history that dates back over 2,500 years, with ancient kingdoms such as Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa. The country is also famous for producing world-renowned Ceylon tea. It is a multicultural nation with different ethnic groups and religions living together, including Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam, and Christianity. Sri Lanka gained its independence from British rule on February 4, 1948, and today it is known for its cultural heritage, friendly people, and vibrant traditions.
